Cuando tenía unos 12 años leí un libro llamado "Jóvenes Brujos y Hechiceros", una recopilación que Isaac Asimov y otros habían hecho de historias fantásticas. Esta historia en particular, "Un mensaje de Charity", de William M. Lee, que iba de una chica de 1700 y un chico de la actualidad que por circunstancias, conectan mentalmente a través del tiempo. Resumiendo y dejando de lado toda la trama, es evidente que el romance entre ellos no acaba bien. Es agridulce como ella acaba grabando su nombre y el de él en una piedra del río que sabe que aún existe en el tiempo de él, pero aún así siempre me gustó (y me sigue gustando) muchísimo. No paraba de darle vueltas al final; "¿por qué no puede construir una máquina del tiempo e ir a buscarla?". No podía evitar imaginarme mi propio final.
La canción de hoy es triste, para ir acorde con una historia triste; Billie Holiday con su "I'll be seeing you"
When I was 12 years old I read this book called "Young Witches and Warlocks", which was a recopilation of scy-fiction stories done by Isaac Asimov and others. There was this William M. Lee story, "A message from Charity", that related how a girl from 1700 and a boy from our days connected through time. Summarizing and leaving aside all the rest of the story, it's clear that the romance between them doesn't end well. It's quite bittersweet how she ends up engraving her name and his on a rock that she knows still exists in his time but even so I liked it (and still do) a lot. I couldn't stop thinking about the ending: "why doesn't he build a time-machine? That way they could be together". I couldn't help imagining my own ending.
